Do Spinal Adjustments Hurt?

This is a common concern of new patients walking in the door…or in my case, me walking into their door.  I do mainly make house calls, you know! After experiencing their first adjustment, it’s a totally different story and they’re looking forward to a future visit.

The truth is that being adjusted is not a painful procedure and many patients, including children, pregnant women and senior citizens, feel instant relief immediately afterwards.

And for those of you who just are wierded out by the “popping” noise that sometimes occurs when someone gets an adjustment…know that I also use techniques that are even gentler and don’t produce a pop at all.

Now, adjustments that are not performed properly could cause discomfort and even increase pain, so do your homework and be sure that your chiropractor is licensed Doctor of Chiropractic and adheres to individualized care.

I can attest to Dr. Stringer’s ability to make adjustments without hurting the patient! I particularly am scared of letting anyone touch my neck – not to mention I’m a huge wimp. Then I was in a car accident. I hurt all the time and it gave me constant headaches. I finally gave in and let Dr. Stringer “pop” my neck. What a relief! In the past I had other negative experiences so it was quite a step of trust to let him do it in the first place. He is the BEST chiropractor I have ever been to before or since! I moved out of state or he’d still be my chiropractor.
